Dingle Weekend

Our Dingle weekend took place last weekend which saw 55 hikers and climbers travel to the lovely hidden gem of Dingle in Co.Kerry. We stayed in a little hostel called Rainbow hostel where the hostel was taken over by eager hikers and climbers ready to tackle the cliffs and mountains the following morning. Saturday came and everyone, fresh faced from a good nights sleep headed separate ways as the hikers traveled to Mt Brandon while the climbers traveled to nearby cliff faces. The hikers were faced with challenging weather and terrain conditions as they scaled a 803m summit. The weather was against them for the first time this semester and they braced dense cloud and rain conditions. The poor weather conditions didn’t dampen their spirits as everyone successfully sumited the mountain range with out much difficulty. Whereas the climbers, some beginners successfully climbed their first outdoor rock face. All members welcomed a hot dinner once they arrived back, where they spent the night socializing in An Droichead Beag, a lovely little pub in the heart of Dingle. Well done to all hikers and climbers for another successful Dingle weekend. Already looking forward next years trip 😀
