Hiking and Climbing is open to all students regardless of experience. If your looking to clear you head in the rugged Irish landscape or climb like a ninja at the climbing wall, than UCC Mountaineering Club is for you.

We go climbing on Mondays from 8:30-10:30pm and on Wednesdays from 7:30-9:30pm at the Mardyke climbing wall. Everyone is more than welcome to attend regardless of experience. All you need is comfortable gym gear and we’ll do the rest.

We leave from Gaol Cross at 8.30AM and get back into Cork at 8PM. We travel to many parts of the Munster region exploring the unique landscapes off the beaten tracks which wind their way round the mountain

We have recently secured squad training for both hikers and climbers who are interested in improving their strength and conditioning in order to progress as hikers and climbers. This takes place at the Mardyke squad gym from 1-2 pm on Tuesdays. Everyone is more than welcome to come down to the gym session and give it a go.

Climbing takes place on Mondays 8:30 - 10:30 pm and Wednesdays 7:30 - 9:30 pm at the Mardyke Climbing Wall. Squad training is on in the Mardyke Squad gym from 1-2pm each Tuesday. All Welcome. Hikes takes place every Sunday to various locations in Munster. Leaving Gaol Cross at 8:30am and returning to Cork by 8pm.
